Hi everybody!!!
Well....I'm home...finally. After 2 1/2 weeks in the hospital, I've had enough. I want to graciously thank everyone for their prayers and best wishes for my recovery.
I really do appreciate all your kindness and thoughts and prayers.
I has been the worst experience, healthwise, I have ever had to deal with. I came within 48 hrs of having my right leg amputated. It started with a foot/tissue infection. Since I am severly diabetic, this was the cause of not being able to heal quickly like most people who do not have diabetes. My entire right leg turned a beet red and the swelling caused my leg to actually double in size.
It has been the most painful experience of my life.
I'm still on IV, intravenous antibiotics, and my full recovery may take several months.
Anyways, I am happy to be home and very gratefull for your concerns and prayers.
I believe without those prayers and best wishes, I might not have recovered to this point.
I can never repay you all for everything.
Hopefully in the near future I will be up on my feet and playing with wood again.

I just wanted you all to know how much it has meant to me, to be missed and your prayers.

May God Bless all of you too!!!

Respectfully yours, WalterK

Welcome home Walter! I’m also a diabetic so I can relate more than some. Please take extra care of yourself and monitor often during your recovery period. Your glucose level can react to stress and illness. Now that your home you may be able to have better control over what you eat. My Mother is also a diabetic and every time she is in the hospital I am surprised at what they feed her. I keep asking them if they know she is a diabetic and they say yes and that her meals are correct. I’ve seen her meals where almost everything on the plate is carbs. Anyway, control everything that goes in your body and monitor to be sure.

Take care,

Philip

Walter! Glad you're back!    Okay, any bets on which happens first--your full recovery, or you catch up on reading two-months-plus worth of posts on the OLF? I'm betting on the recovery first--'cause the other's just too hard!

Hello Walter K!

Happy Homecoming. Those hospitals aren't the best place to get uninterrupted rest. Hopefully you'll do much better at home getting rest.

Don't be a stranger.

Glad you're doing ok Walt, you had us worried.

The best thing about a hospital stay is getting home afterwards.
